Kanye popularly known as ‘Ye’ talked about Rainey in one of his songs titled Never Let Me Down. It is a track on The College Dropout. In the song, he revealed the promise that he made to Sumeke’s dad on his deathbed.
West rapped in the song, “Nothing sad as that day my girl’s father passed away / So I promised to Mr. Rainey I’m gonna marry your daughter.” The pair’s relationship came to an end as Ye began climbing the steps of the ladder named Success.
Alexis Phifer (2002-2008)
The Flashing Lights rapper dated fashion designer Alexis Phifer on and off from the year 2002 to 2008. The duo hit a rough patch in their relationship when Kanye’s career skyrocketed in the year 2004 post the release of his debut album The College Dropout.

Brooke Crittendon (2008)
The Yeezy designer and the Harlem Heights star dated during his brief split from Alexis Phifer. Brooke joined Kanye and his mom Donda at the 2006 Grammy Awards. The pair pulled the plug on their relationship that summer.
In a 2009 interview with Essence magazine, Brooke spilled the beans on her relationship with the Good Morning rapper. She went on to talk about the pressure on her due to the spotlight on the pair’s relationship.
Crittendon told the publication, “[I] had to live in the shadow of that’s ‘Kanye’s ex-girl.’ I’m so much bigger than that.” She revealed that the exes ended their relationship on good terms.

Amber Rose (2008-2010)
After his split from Alexis Phifer, the All Falls Down rapper dated the model from the year 2008 to 2010. It has been reported that Rose broke up with West and later on, she alleged that she faced “constant bullying” from the rapper in the wake of their split.
In a 2017 interview with Complex‘s “Everyday Struggle” talk show, Amber said, “The only thing I got from him was fame. I had to just take that. I had to take that heartbreak on top of it.”
