Kanye West may have lost support from major companies, giving him a huge financial blow, but his dedicated fanbase still continues to stand by the rapper. In a move to restore his billionaire status, overlooking his ‘bigoted’ online behaviour, fans launched a GoFundMe campaign to make the rapper a billionaire again.
Supporting A Disgraced Rapper…
Kanye “Ye” West’s fans stand by him, if not the world. Considering his crumbling financial status following hostile and bigoted social media behaviour, the 45-year-old rapper’s fans have launched a GoFundMe campaign to “make him a billionaire again”. However, one fundraiser was already taken down by a website after making only $5, while several others still remain active.
The aforementioned fundraiser, named “Make Kanye West A Billionaire Again” was aimed at raising $1 billion, after West’s net worth dipped, as major companies like Adidas cut all ties with the Donda rapper. However, it was taken down after raising only $5. Since then, fans have promoted their own GoFundMe pages, encouraging others to make them billionaires instead of Ye. Seems like there’s a lot of trash to clean out there.
If you’re not aware, a fan in 2016 started a GoFundMe page to raise $53 million for the Grammy winner after he claimed that the rapper was in debt for that amount. This fan, named Jeremy Piatt managed to crowdsource $57,398, but Kanye declined the funds. In the end, this money was donated to Notes for Notes, a music charity.

Big companies such as French fashion house Balenciaga, Adidas, Gap and most recently, Foot Lockers cut all professional ties with Kanye, giving him a nasty financial blow. The decision comes after Ye continued to make anti-semitic comments and encourage hate speech against the Jewish community.
The German shoe giant, Adidas referred to Ye’s recent anti-semitic comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and cut all its ties with the rapper. This deal for his Yeezy brand made up $1.5 billion of his net worth, now dipping it down to just $400 million.
Ye crossed lines with his anti-semitic remarks. Kanye tweeted on Oct. 8: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti-Semitic because black people are actually Jews also You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone who opposes your agenda.” His Twitter and Instagram were suspended during that week.
Not only this, but on his appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” last week, Ye revealed that he has no regret threatening to go “DEFCON 3 on Jewish people. The rapper went on an antisemitic tirade on “Drink Champs”, also making false statements regarding George Floyd’s death.
As a result of Ye’s attacks, a banner was recently hung by a white supremacist group above the 405 freeway in Los Angeles reading “Kanye is right about the Jews.” This has escalated hate attacks against the Jewish community. What’s more shocking is that instead of promoting such funds for more important issues like poverty and hunger, people are interested in making the rich richer. What do you think about this?
