Anya Taylor-Joy Thanks Jimmy Fallon For Saving Her Life, Credits “Beach Boys” For Acting Career

Anya Taylor-Joy appeared on The Tonight Show and congratulated Jimmy Fallon for being alive, of course referencing the recent fake tweets surrounding his death. The 26-year-old actress also talked about getting invited onstage as a teenager by Carl Wilson during ‘The Beach Boys’ concert and how it lead to her acting career. Jimmy Saved Anya’s Life At Met Gala

No, it wasn’t Jimmy’s ghost on “The Tonight Show”. Primetime Emmy Award nominee Anya Taylor-Jay stopped by “The Tonight Show” and congratulated Jimmy Fallon for being alive following the fake Twitter rumours about his death. Well, that’s what the H-town is talking about these days.

If you’re still living under a stone, you may not be aware of this. After athletes like LeBron James became a victim of fake “blue tick” accounts, “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon was declared dead on Twitter. Fallon come forward and called out Elon Musk to help take down #RIPJimmyFallon.

Rumors of his death started surfacing on Twitter, after a fake Twitter Post, which read: “It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a late-night legend, husband, and father of two, Jimmy Fallon. 1923-2022.” It was also stated that he passed away from ligma. The rumors were later debunked but several tweets regarding his death were already floating on Twitter.

As for the Met Gala story, the 26-year-old actress told Jimmy Fallon that she is thankful that he saved her life once. Anya said, “This is actually a true story. On the subject of insane fashion, it was at the Met Gala. My first time being there. I was wearing a ridiculously heavy dress and I couldn’t breathe and move, and was trying to get through the evening.”

She revealed that there was a three-inch frail thing and she got wrapped up in it, and she was sure that she was gonna die. “I am gonna die on the steps of the Met Gala,” Anya sarcastically stated. But then, out of nowhere the hand of God came out and pulled her out, and it was none other than Jimmy Fallon.

“And you were like, hey I am Jimmy, nice to meet you, and I was like okay,” she explained. Jimmy responded, “Yea, that’s exactly right, I do remember that. That was me.” Anya revealed that Jimmy was next to Sarah Paulson, and from that moment her night got so much better.

“Beach Boys” Inspired Her Acting Career

After Anya narrated Jimmy’s heroic story from the Met Gala, Jimmy praised the Golden Globe Award winner for her role in Netflix’s “The Queen’s Gambit”. He said, “I think you were so grand, you were absolutely stunning. I loved every second of your acting.” Jimmy revealed that she told him backstage that she owes the credit to “Beach Boys”.

“Walk me through that, how that’s real?” Jimmy asked. Anya responded, “I grew up listening to the music of the 50s and the 60s, that was just like my literal jam and they were playing, and I just ran to the very front and it was like singing my heart out.” Carl Wilson mentioned that there is a literal child who is singing every song. She was speaking about being at a “Beach Boys” concert at the age of 14.

The “Beach Boys” need no introduction if you’re a rock music lover. The band formed in Hawthrone, California in 1961, and the original lineup consisted of Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. The band, known for its vocal harmonies, became one of the most influential acts of the rock era. Remember their first national hit “Surfin’ U.S.A.”?

Anya was then invited up on the stage by the lead guitarist, Carl Wilson, who literally pulled her up and handed her a guitar, and she looked at him and she was like, “I don’t know how to play the guitar.” However, he was like, “just go for it”. Rest is history. That was the best day of her life and she had already grown up as a woman that day. Well, getting invited on the stage by the legendary 60s rock band is a dream come true. Jimmy even revealed a picture of Anya playing the guitar during the concert.

“How did this moment lead to being the inspiration behind your acting career?” Jimmy asked. Anya revealed that soon after the concert, she got cast for modelling, which she never thought of. “I always wanted to act so she showed them a video of this and asked them if they believe that I could play the guitar, and they were like, “yea, you’re killing at it,” she explained. And voila! That’s how she decided to take up acting.

Anya Taylor is one of the most successful actors of the present time. At 26, she has received several accolades a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Taylor left school at 16 to pursue her acting career and after some minor television roles, she made her film debut with “The With”.

Anya has also appeared in the famous series, “Peaky Blinders”. Her role as Emma Woodhouse in “Emma” won her a Golden Globe nomination. For her role as Beth Harmon in “The Queen’s Gambit”, she won several accolades including a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award.

During her concluding talk with Jimmy Fallon, Anya spoke about her upcoming film, “The Menu”, which releases tomorrow (Nov. 18). The American comedy horror film is directed by Mark Mylod, and Anya Taylor is playing the role of Margot.
