Jay Leno is all set to return to the stage! Not long ago, The Tonight Show alum announced his plans to be back on stage for a comedy performance just a couple of days after he was discharged from the burn center.
For those of you who are unversed, let us share with you, the 72-year-old was rushed to the hospital on November 13, 2022, after he sustained burns on his face after a fire in his garage. As per various reports, he spent nearly 10 days in the burn center and underwent two surgeries at that time. Read on to learn more details about Leno’s first performance since the fire incident.
Jay Leno is set to return to the stage for a comedy performance
On Tuesday, November 22, 2022, the television host and standup comedian was spotted out and about in public. He was snapped by the paps while was out to gas up his car. Then, he spilled the beans on his plans for a performance this weekend.
As a report by Entertainment Tonight, James Douglas Muir Leno popularly known as Jay Leno told the paps, that he will be taking over the stage at the Comedy Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
We are pretty sure that all fans of Jay Leno will likely recall that he has performed at the comedy club many times in the past. The media outlet also went on to say that he has even used the space to test out jokes that would later appear on The Tonight Show.
The standup comedian also stated that he would drive the car that was at the center of the horrible fire. He revealed that during the fire accident, “the car didn’t do anything wrong.”
Jay Leno recently suffered severe burn injuries in a fire incident
Earlier this month, Jay got involved in a scary fire incident. At that time, he sustained many serious burns on his face, and soon after the incident, he was admitted to a burn center. He was working in his garage and one of his cars caught fire which resulted in burning a part of his face.
Leno was released from the burn center nearly after 10 days after the incident. Then, Dr. Peter Grossman of the Grossman Burn Center issued a statement in which he talked about Jay Leno’s health. At that time, Dr. Peter said, “I am pleased with Jay’s progress, and I am optimistic that he will make a full recovery.”
According to a statement issued by Grossman Burn Center, “Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday.”
