Soon after her split from Bob in 1977, Kirstie Alley moved on in her life with Parker Stevenson. The pair tied the knot in 1983. Keep scrolling further to know everything about the past relationships of the Hollywood star.
Bob Alley
Kirstie’s first marriage was to her high school sweetheart Bob Alley. As per various reports, the former couple who met and fell in love in high school exchanged their vows in the year 1970.
Coincidentally, Bob already shared Kirstie’s maiden name that’s Alley. As of this moment, very less is known about the pair’s marriage. According to Hollywood Reporter, during a media interaction in 2012, Kirstie admitted to an affair of sorts. The first name of the man was believed to be Jake. Then, she also stated that it was the reason behind the end of her first marriage.
At that time, the One More Chance actress spilled the beans on her marriage to Bob and said, “I didn’t have sex, but I think it was worse when you fall in love with someone else when you’re with someone, and you’re plotting and you’re planning.”
Kirstie went on to say, “What I did do with Jake was I kissed him. And in my world, in Kirstie world, that meant I had to get a divorce. … It took a long time [to forgive myself] because I was a horrible person, I destroyed my marriage.”
Bob and Kirstie’s marriage was not built to last. The exes pulled the plug on their relationship after 7 years of marriage. The pair who called it quits in the year 1977 did not share any children together.
Parker Stevenson
Kirstie Alley’s second marriage was to her fellow actor Parker Stevenson. The Hollywood actors tied the knot in the year 1983. The two of them walked down the aisle on December 22, 1983.
As per a report by People magazine, the Look Who’s Talking Too star and The Hardy Boys actor met each other for the first time at a bar. In an earlier media interaction, she talked about the pair’s first meeting and she stated that she didn’t recognize him as the actor from The Hardy Boys.
Alley recalled the evening vividly. At that point, she remembered the moment and said, “I saw him and said to my roommate, ‘For him, I would die.'” During their marriage, Kirstie and her then-husband Parker had two kids via adoption.
First, Kirstie and Parker adopted their son William True (who goes by his middle name) in the year 1992. Nearly 2 years later, the pair expanded their family and welcomed their daughter Lillie. The pair parted ways in the year 1997 and continued to share joint custody of both their kids.
Like every other relationship, Alley and Stevenson’s marriage was full of ups and downs. In 2012, the Emmy-winning actress opened up about the feelings she had for people outside the marriage.
While promoting her 2015 book titled The Art of Men (I Prefer Mine al Dente), Alley confessed that her greatest love was her Look Who’s Talking Now co-star John Travolta though she kept it in for the sake of her marriage.
As per The Huffington Post, then, the Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan actress said, “Believe me, it took everything that I had, inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John — and be with John for the rest of my life.”
At one point in time, Kirstie even admitted to falling in love with the late Patrick Swayze. For those of you who are unversed, let us share with you, that back in the day, Alley and Patrick starred together in the TV show North and South. However, they didn’t have an affair.
Then, the For Richer or Poorer actress said, “We did not have an affair. But again, I think what I did was worse. Because I think when you fall in love with someone when you’re married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage. It’s doubly bad.”
In a 1999 interview with People magazine, Parker recalled being opposites with the Jenny Craig spokesperson. He told the media outlet, “Kirstie and I are exact opposites. That’s what made it so interesting, [but being opposites] makes for not a good marriage.”
In the year 2016, the former couple became grandparents for the first time after their son William had a baby boy of his own. The name of their grandson is Waylon Tripp Parker. Kirstie and Parker became grandparents again last year after their daughter Lillie welcomed her first child, a son named Ripp Woodrow Graham.
Kirstie’s ex-husband Parker Stevenson mourned the loss of her death after she passed away at the age of 71 on December 5, 2022, Monday. He paid a heartwarming tribute to his ex-wife Alley on the social media platform Instagram.
“Dear Kirstie, I am so grateful for our years together, and for the two incredibly beautiful children and now grandchildren that we have,” he wrote next to a photo of the pair that showed Kirstie grabbing onto his button-down shirt as he smiled at the camera.
Stevenson concluded the social media post by writing, “You will be missed. With love, Parker.”
