Bryce Leatherwood shined like a bright star in his blind audition for ‘The Voice’

Bryce performed a beautiful rendition of the song Goodbye Time by Conway Twitty for his blind audition on The Voice. And the first coach to turn the red chair was none other than Blake Shelton followed by Gwen Stefani and John Legend.

Shelton went on to say that he was blown away by Leatherwood’s performance. At that time, John told Bryce, “You sounded fantastic. I heard the richness in your voice.” Bryce selected Blake as his coach for the season.

Since then, Leatherwood has truly and fully embraced his country roots with terrific covers of songs by George Strait, Zac Brown Band, and more. During one round of live eliminations, he also won the Instant Save.

Bryce Leatherwood is grateful to be on Team Blake

In an interview with Hollywood Life after the top 10 live shows, Bryce said, “I believe as a mentor, it doesn’t get much better than Blake Shelton. He’s earned his stripes. He’s just a great guy.”

Leatherwood further added, “He brings it down home, so you don’t have to look at him like he’s this big, tall figure. That means a lot. He gets right down to your level and makes you feel at home.”

At that point, Bryce also stated that he wants to show more vocal range in the final weeks. He said, “I want to show more vocal range. Country songs are a little different, but I’d love to sing something out of my genre if I got the opportunity to or something. A little bit more range so I can squeal and belt like all these incredible singers like I wish I could do all the time. I don’t know, just something different to throw a curveball again.”

Bryce Leatherwood is finishing up his college at the moment

Yeah, you read that right. Currently, Bryce who is from Woodstock, Georgia is only 22 years old. Right now he lives in Statesboro, Georgia. He has got some stage experience by performing in the college bar scene in Georgia.

As per his NBC bio, Bryce is in his final year at Georgia Southern University. He is completing a degree in business. Eventually, he hopes to manage his music career with the help of his degree.
