Who is Gary Rossington’s wife?
For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, Gary was married to Dale Krantz-Rossington. The couple walked down the aisle in the year 1982. The two of them were together until his death on March 5, 2023. The pair welcomed two kids together, both daughters.
Dale is a background backup singer for Lynyrd Skynyrd. In the year 1977, she was a full-time vocalist for the rock band during their first performance. This was after the plane crash incident that happened in the same year where Gary survived and the rest of Lynyrd’s members were killed.
As per various media outlets, Dale’s dad was a professional church choir director and that’s how she and her siblings got more inclined towards music. When she was a kid, she would even sing Johnny Mathis’s album in front of a mirror.
Keeping aside her music career, she has also been a part of a few films such as Lynyrd Skynyrd Lyve: The Vicious Cycle Tour, Decades Rock Live, and If I Leave Here Tomorrow: A Film About Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Gary Rossington had a few health problems
Gary who was the last original member of the band Lynrd Skynyrd suffered a heart attack in the year 2015. Then, his daughter Mary Elizabeth shared a post on the social media platform Facebook and asked everyone to pray for him. Rossington’s heart problems escalated with time. Prior to that, he had undergone a quintuple bypass surgery in 2003.
At that time, Mary addressed his surgery and said, “They went in to repair and unclog two stents they did previously in the year which had a blood clot, added a third stent to one vein and in two weeks we will need to go in to do a fourth stent in one of his bypassed veins from 12 years ago.”
In 2021, Rossington underwent another heart surgery. Then, the band told their fans that Gary was recovering and he motivated the band to perform without him.
