At the moment, American actress Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott are in the headlines due to their personal life. The two of them have decided to go their separate ways after 17 years of marriage.

The answer to the above question is five. Tori and Dean tied the knot in the year 2006. The pair welcomed their first child together, son Liam the next year. Their second baby, daughter Stella joined them earthside in 2008.
Spelling and McDermott added another member to their clan in 2011. Tori gave birth to her and Dean’s third child, their second daughter, Hattie, in 2011. Their fourth baby, son Finn, came into the world in 2012.
In addition to this, Dean is also a father to his son Jack whom he welcomed with his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace. Tori and McDermott went through a rough patch in their relationship. As per Spelling, they found out they were pregnant again after they resolved their issues.
The pair’s youngest child, son Beau was born in the year 2017. The couple’s baby boy helped them to “start over” and look at their marriage from a different perspective. On Saturday, Dean announced his split from Tori on the social networking platform Instagram.
McDermott wrote, “It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own.”
He further added, “We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time. We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work our way through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness.

The separation rumors of Tori and Dean started swirling in the air when Spelling was spotted out and about in public without her wedding ring. Nearly 2 months later, the “BH90210” alum revealed that she and McDermott had been sleeping in separate rooms.
While making an appearance on SiriusXM radio show that June, Spelling told her pal Jeff Lewis, “Right now, my kids and dogs sleep in my bed.” She stated that Dean had left the country to film a project.
In September, Dean addressed the separation rumors and said, “It’s just weird that people need to know. What’s going on with Tori and Dean? She’s not wearing her ring.’ Why do you need to know that? How is that going to affect your day?”
He continued, “I don’t reply anymore. It’s just like, ‘OK, if that’s what you want to think, then think it.’” The two of them have had a rocky marriage from the beginning. And now, the estranged couple plans to co-parent their five kids.
Liam Aaron McDermott, 16
Tori and Dean welcomed their oldest child, son Liam Aaron McDermott, on March 13, 2007, in Los Angeles. Back in the day, Spelling had a challenging labor and she underwent a cesarean section.
Liam has grown in front of our eyes. His childhood was featured on his parents’ reality show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. All of the big milestones of his life including birthdays and holidays were captured by the cameras until he was 5 years old.
From there on, Spelling and Dean have shared major life events of their son Liam on social media. He graduated from elementary school in the year 2019. In an Instagram post, Tori called her son, “kind, clever, smart, resilient, driven, funny, and amazing” while posting photos from the ceremony.
Middle school was difficult for Liam as he was bullied during that period. In the past, Tori disclosed that her son endured “so much bullying” during his first year at his new school. Then, she alleged that a school administrator called Liam “unmotivated” and “lazy.”
Tori whose real name is Victoria Davey Spelling even claimed that the bullying started affecting her son physically. She said, “He was bullied to the point that he developed severe emotional based headaches and stomach aches. He continued to be bullied so bad we had to leave.”
In the last couple of months, Liam has tried to experiment with his hair color and shared pictures on social media. Last year, he accompanied his dad and stepbrother Jack McDermott during the Pride celebrations.
Stella Doreen McDermott, 15
Spelling and McDermott’s second child, daughter Stella Doreen McDermott was born on June 9, 2008, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. After the birth of their baby girl, Tori revealed that their daughter was healthy and the family was “resting comfortably.”
The name of the pair’s baby girl has a special meaning for them as her first name ‘Stella’ is inspired by one of Spelling’s favorite books. On the other hand, when we talk about her middle name, it is in honor of McDermott’s late mother.
Tori said, “I used to be obsessed with the book Great Expectations, and Estella was the main character. So I told that to Dean and he was like, ‘That’s a great name.’ We were kind of playing back and forth, calling her Estella. It wasn’t fitting, though. And then one day, Dean was like, ‘What about Stella?’ I said, ‘That’s it!’ ”
Just like her big bro, Stella was seen on her parents’ reality show Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood which chronicled some of her special moments including her first extravagant birthday. Over the years, she has had many over-the-top parties all planned by Spelling.
Tori has described her daughter as a “Jill-of-all-trades” and it’s true. Stella refers to herself as a baker, crafter, model, actress, animal whisperer and anti-bullying activist. Along with this, she is an upcoming makeup artist.

Stella was also bullied at school. In a media interaction, Tori stated that she had to change her daughter’s school after the administrators at the school didn’t take any action to control the situation. Later on down the lane, Spelling disclosed that the bullying included insults about Stella’s weight and sexual comments. The preteen had PTSD and other physical ailments like stomach issues and headaches.
It has been reported that Stella’s health improved after she got into a school where her bullying concerns were addressed. Then, she bagged her first modeling gig with the brand Petite ‘n Pretty in her kitty. Furthermore, she got the opportunity to appear on MasterChef Celebrity Family Showdown.

At the start of this year, Tori disclosed on her Instagram Story that her daughter Stella was again suffering from health concerns. The Hollywood actress posted a photo of her daughter lying in a hospital bed. The picture showed her wearing a gown and face mask.
“The hits just keep coming😭,” Tori wrote in the caption of the Instagram Story. After a couple of days, Spelling made an appearance on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live and revealed additional details about Stella’s health.
Then, the Beverly Hills, 90210, alum said, “She went to the ER, now twice, and was diagnosed with a hemiplegic migraine. One side of you goes numb, it almost kind of mimics what a stroke would be.”
Stella turned 15 years old earlier this month. Then, her mom Tori dropped a sweet post to wish her baby girl a very happy birthday. Spelling started by writing, “It’s official… my baby girl Buggy 🐞 is 15! So proud of the incredible human you are @stella_mcdermott08.”
She added, “You have always led with kindness and empathy. Despite bullying in many areas of your life you continue lead with hope and optimism and are an inspiration to girls everywhere. ”

Hattie Margaret McDermott, 11
Tori and her now-estranged husband Dean welcomed their third baby together, daughter Hattie Margaret McDermott in the year 2011. Their baby girl came into the world on October 10, 2011. At the time of her birth, she weighed 6 lbs., 14 oz., and measured 20 inches long.
The pair decided not to find out the gender of their baby until the baby was born. They stated that they were “really surprised” to find out Hattie was a girl. Stella and Liam had to adjust after the arrival of their little sister Hattie.
Spelling stated that Stella “was like, ‘Wait a second’ ” when Hattie joined the family. Luckily, it didn’t take much time for the siblings to become close and for Stella to enjoy having a little sister.
During an interview on The Talk, Tori said, “Now [Stella] loves it because her thing is that she picks out her clothes — she styles her.” She stated that her daughters have remained close.
In an Instagram post shared on National Sisters Day, Spelling wrote, “These 2! Fate made them sisters but love made them friends….It’s National Sisters Day and I couldn’t be more proud of my two girls Stella and Hattie. I ❤️ their bond. It’s so special and so fun to watch them get closer and closer as they grow and experience life.”
In October 2022, Tori celebrated the 11th birthday of her baby girl Hattie with a Halloween-themed party. “This beautiful baby girl is all grown up now… Hattie Cat is 11 today! My magical middle child has always been a sassy independent force to be reckoned with! She has the voice of an Angel and the artist touch,” she wrote alongside a series of pictures of herself and her baby girl.

Finn Davey McDermott, 10
In 2012, Tori and Dean announced the arrival of their fourth baby, Finn Davey. Their baby boy was born on August 30, 2012, after a challenging pregnancy. While pregnant with Finn, Tori was hospitalized and put on bed rest after dealing with placenta previa, a condition where the placenta completely or partially covers the opening of the uterus.
Spelling gave birth to Finn at 37 weeks and she faced some complications after the delivery as well. Then, she underwent emergency surgery but thankfully recovered. She was very cautious with Finn even after he was born.
While having a chat with People magazine in 2013, Tori said, “Dean says I’m actually more protective of Finn than I was of the other three. Because of what Finn and I went through medically — it was a rough pregnancy — I may not consciously know it, but at home I’m usually behind him going, ‘Wha! Wha! Wha!’ And Dean is like, ‘Please stop gasping!’ ”
Despite being extra careful with her baby boy Finn, Tori said he was “rambunctious.” At that point, she called him the “little bruiser of the family.” She also stated that he was just the opposite of his elder brother Liam and joked that Finn often ran around “terrorizing everything.”
Tori added, “Liam was a super mellow baby and with Finn, if you turn around for one second, his finger is in the socket and he’s pulling the blinds around himself. He is that kid.”
For Finn’s 9th birthday in 2021, Spelling shared a beautiful post on Instagram. She wrote, “My Finney is 9 today… Everyone knows our journey together. He’s my miracle baby. We fought together for survival and he’s my warrior!”
She added, “The word manifestation was truly just a word to me till I watched first hand how what you truly fight for and believe in can be manifested. And, today he celebrates his 9th birthday. Finn’s heart is ginormous and his soul is so beautiful.”
Tori continued, “He was the first of my babies to get my brown eyes. We twin inside and out in so many ways. Except, I aspire to be the human he is. You are magical Finn Davey. And, never stop smiling and telling us Finn Facts. Love you with all my heart and soul. #birthdayboy”
Beau Dean McDermott, 6
Spelling and Dean welcomed their fifth baby together, son Beau Dean McDermott, in the year 2017. Their youngest child, son Beau was born on March 2, 2017. This time, Tori’s pregnancy went more smoothly than her last. Both mom and baby were healthy upon his arrival.
Then Tori told People magazine, “We are over the moon in love with baby Beau. He is a true blessing and his brothers and sisters were overjoyed to meet him! We are all truly grateful for our big beautiful and healthy family.”
The House of Yes actress also revealed that Beau came at the perfect time for the family. He came into the world when they “all needed a little hope.” She said he instantly became the “sunshine of life” for them, and as a “wise little old soul,” he kept everyone laughing.
Beau has also been featured on his parents’ social media pages on several occasions. The posts show his great personality and love for animals. He loves to go to school and he frequently hits the golf course with his dad.
McDermott stated that his son Beau’s golf skills are so good that he calls him “Beau Beau Watson” just because both Beau and golf star Bubba Watson are lefties. On Beau’s 6th birthday, Tori shared an Instagram reel that consisted of her images while she was pregnant with Beau and some pictures of Beau as an infant.
Earlier this year in March, Beau and his dad Dean had a fun father-son outing at the PAW Patrol 10th anniversary event in Los Angeles. Then, the proud dad shared on Instagram, “Beau and I had a great time at the @nickelodeon studios today. We watched the special 10th anniversary episode. We met Rubble, Chase, and Skye!!”
Dean added, “We had snacks and finished the day off with a coloring competition. I think Beau crushed it. I played it safe and stayed in the lines, but Beau really went with bold colors and expressed himself and explored his space with colors.”
Jack Montgomery McDermott, 24
Along with his 5 kids with Tori, Dean is also a doting father to his son Jack Montgomery McDermott, whom he shares with his ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace. The former couple welcomed their first and only child together, son Jack in the year 1998.
Tori has a special bond with her stepson Jack. In the past, she shared that the two of them have gone through periods of distance during the “years of awkwardness” when he was a teenager. She and Jack met each other for the first time when he was 6 years old.
In 2019, Spelling posted a heartfelt tribute to Jack on his 21st birthday. She wrote, “Ok I’m gonna embarrass you for a second @thejackmonty … I’ve known this guy since he was almost 7. She also shed some light on his coming out and went on to say, “I was so proud of his confidence. He was who he was and he was proud of it. And, then we bonded again. We found each other on a new level with a whole new respect for each other.”
