Rodman got the tattoo of his girlfriend’s portrait on his right cheek. He revealed the ink on social media with the caption “Start your own legacy when you’re God favored.” The former Detroit Pistons player got tattooed by Black Ink Crew’s Van Johnson at the artist’s home on June 6th.
Johnson shared the video of Rodman’s new look on Instagram and wrote, “So I ain’t do too much today, cooled out at my townhome tattooed a living legends face of his woman on his face, that’s about it…. What y’all do?”
The video also shows a blonde woman, apparently, Rodman’s mystery girlfriend, who is seen fondly looking at the tattoo. Meanwhile, the basketball legend said, “I’m love, I gonna smoke and have a drink, and f–k.” He then went on to praise Johnson by saying, “This guy’s still doing it.”
The job reportedly took an hour to finish. The tattoo artist later opened up about the whole process in an interview and said, “He was a champ, he sat through it. Pretty random, but he love the hell out that girl.”
Social Media Divided on Rodman’s Tattoo
While some fans appreciated Rodman’s bold move, others thought that he went a bit too far by getting a huge tattoo on his face. “Wow, talk about wearing your heart on your face! Dennis Rodman really knows how to make a bold statement of love. I hope his girlfriend appreciates the permanent affection,” wrote a supporter.
Another tweeted, “There’s no bigger sign of dedication than tattooing your gf/bf initials or face on your face.” On the other hand, a follower wrote, “Will never understand why people do this. What happens when you break up? Even if you try to cover it up with another tattoo, you will still remember your ex anytime you look at your face.”
Rodman Has Kept the Identity of His Girlfriend Hidden
While the former player openly expressed his love for his girl by getting her tattoo on his face, he still has not introduced her officially to the public or on social media. The name and other details about the woman in question are still unknown.
As for his dating history, Rodman was previously married to Annie Bakes for a brief period before finding love with pop icon Madonna in 1994. He went on to marry actress Carmen Electra in 1999 but divorced her a year later. He then tied the knot with Michelle Moyer in 2003, but this marriage, too, lasted for just one year.
