Jamie Foxx has finally made his first public appearance since his medical complication. It seems like the American actor is better now. In a video captured by TMZ, he can be seen smiling and making a peace sign while cruising down the Chicago River on a boat on Sunday.
For the boat outing, the Back in Action star opted for an all-black ensemble. He completed his casual look with a pair of aviation sunglasses. At that time, at least two passengers were with him on the boat.
A source close to the Hollywood actor and his camp told People magazine, “Jamie is doing great. He is just taking it easy. He’s not really having any visitors or anything like that yet but he’s doing really really well.”
Foxx’s latest outing sees the light of day after he shared a health update after his hospitalization on May 3 on the social media platform Instagram. Then, he told his 16.6 million Instagram followers, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.”

For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, Jamie was hospitalized on April 11 in Georgia. In a statement issued on April 12, Jamie’s daughter Corinne revealed that he “experienced a medical complication” the day prior. Before the medical emergency, he was in Atlanta filming the Netflix film Back in Action which also stars Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.
At the time, Corinne shared, “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
On May 12, Corinne shared another health update about her famous dad. Then, she wrote, “Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating.”
She went on to say, “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support! We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
The latest Instagram post of Jamie Foxx revolves around his upcoming movie They Cloned Tyrone which is set to release on Netflix later this month on July 21. He simply captioned the post, “It’s about to go down. #TheyClonedTyrone coming July 21, only on @netflix.”
