Oscars 2022 is the talk of the town just like every year, however, this time it is for some not-so-obvious reasons.
The glamorous event which took place last night on March 27 has witnessed some shocking turn of events as Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on the Oscars live stage.
Chris cracked some bad joke at Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith which was not well received by Smith who got offended by it. He straightaway walked onto the stage and smacked Chris in the face.
Chris actually threw a joke on Jada’s hairstyle (as she had a bald head), referring to the film “G.I. Jane” in which Demi Moore shaved her head. This joke of course did not go down well with her husband Smith who reacted in an unexpected way after losing his cool.

This whole episode has sparked a controversy on social media. Celebrities, as well as fans, are coming up with their opinions and are rather shocked by all that has happened on the most eventful day in Hollywood.
When Smith slapped Chris over his joke on Jada, at the very first sight it seemed to be scripted. However, when Smith expressed his anger by going back to his seat and shouting, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fu****g mouth”, everyone started wondering what has really happened.

Chris, who himself was shocked by Smith’s reaction quickly finished his task of announcing the winner of Best Documentary Feature. Before that, he also said that “Will Smith just smacked the s**t out of me.”
This whole outburst clarifies that this wasn’t a scripted or staged thing!

However, Will Smith, who won Oscar for Best Actor category, while accepting the award, apologized to the Academy members and his fellow nominees for his misconduct with tears in his eyes.
To the unversed, this is not the first time that Chris tried to make fun of Will Smith’s wife. Earlier also, when Chris hosted the Oscars, he took a dig at Jada. He had mocked her by saying, “Jada Pinkett Smith boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties—I wasn’t invited!”.
