Reality star Mama Ru’s daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and her boyfriend Dralin Carswell recently sparked engagement rumours after the 16-year-old was seen wearing a diamond ring on “that finger” in her new family photos. Well, rumours have been slammed by Honey Boo Boo’s rep stating that she isn’t engaged.
The Sparkler is Just A Ring!
Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and boyfriend Dralin Carswell sparked rumours they were engaged after the reality star was spotted wearing a diamond ring on ‘that finger’. However, a rep for the “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” alum told Page Six that Thompson is not engaged and that the sparkler is “just a ring.”
The 16-year-old’s new diamond ring was featured in a series of photos which were published on Monday wherein Thompson’s sister, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, debuted her newborn twins. Rumours about her engagement with Dralin sparked within seconds after these pictures were published.
In the pics, the “Dancing With the Stars: Juniors” alum was seemingly not trying to hide her big rock as she swept hair off her face with her left hand in one of the images. But hey, the teenager is now walking down the aisle just yet. Honey Boo Boo’s rep confirmed the same by stating that the jewellery is nothing special and “just a ring”.
Alana And Dralin Are Attached At The Hip…
Even though the engagement rumours have been shut down by the supposed-to-be-bride herself, one this is sure. Alana, 16 and Dralin, 20 are “attached at the hip and hang out together all the time” as told by a close source who also said, “He was quiet at first, but he’s like one of the family now. He’s just as fun and crazy as the rest of them.”
As for their relationship, the teen star was first publicly linked with Dralin Carswell last September. The couple made headlines for their four-year age gap as Alana is presently 16 and Dralin is 20. However, several sources claimed that the couple were head-over-heels and hang out together all the time.
In April, the “Mama June: From Not to Hot” alum was seen openly strolling with her boyfriend near her home in McIntyre, Ga. despite criticism concerning their age. The lovebirds seem inseparable at the time as they enjoyed each other’s company and allowed the paps to snap their pics.
In May, June “Mama June” Shannon raved about the couple, who went Instagram official in September. She said, “You cannot pull them out of each other’s asshole.” She also revealed that it has not been an easy road for the interracial couple out there.
Honey Boo Boo’s mother added, “She is getting a lot of hate because she’s in an interracial relationship, he is older. At the end of the day, Alana’s not that 6-, 7-year-old child y’all fell in love with 11 years ago.” As for Alana, it may be a teenage love but she’s got some strong feelings for Dralin.
Despite her strong support for the young couple, In June, Honey Boo Boo’s mother “Mama” June Shannon lost custody of her daughter, following a heated court docket battle with her elder daughter. Shannon was previously arrested for drug possession. Mama June is ordered to pay Pumpkin $800 per 30 days in youngster help till Honey Boo Boo, presently, 16, turns 18 years old.
