Yes, you read that right. Recently, while speaking with AnOther magazine for the publication’s latest cover story, Ana de Armas revealed that she went to Marilyn’s grave site to ask for her permission to make the movie Blonde.
Ana told the publication, “We got this big card and everyone in the crew wrote a message to her. Then we went to the cemetery and put it on her grave. We were asking for permission in a way.”
The Deep Water star went on to say, “Everyone felt a huge responsibility, and we were very aware of the side of the story we were going to tell — the story of Norma Jeane, the person behind this character, Marilyn Monroe. Who was she really?”

The world premiere of the film Blonde took place at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on September 8, 2022. As per the reports of Deadline, the movie received an 11-minute standing ovation At Venice Film Festival.
During an interaction with the reporters at the Venice Film Festival, Ana de Armas went on to say that she felt Marilyn Monroe’s presence on the set of the film. She told the reporters, “I truly believe that she was very close to us. She was with us.”
The No Time To Die star further added, “I think she was happy. She would also throw things off the wall sometimes and get mad if she didn’t like something. Maybe this sounds very mystical, but it is true. We all felt it.”
