Coraline 2 chances of happening again is a 50-50. Since 2009, fans have been waiting to hear even a spike of updates and we might just happen to have the information for an upcoming sequel.
The original movie that was released in 2009 was a beloved movie for animation viewers. But wait, is there even a tiny chance of Coraline 2, and if yes, when are we going to receive an official confirmation about it?
Don’t you think it’s only fair to find that out? Let’s go.
2009, umm, technically 12 years ago and no wonder there are so many movies that are ready to sprinkle nostalgia onto you. Jennifer’s Body, Watchmen, Avatar, and so on are just a couple of classics we mostly miss. And God we hope we get a sequel SOON.
However, the undisputed king of the battle is Coraline and also the favorite movie from that very year for many viewers. Henry Selick, the director of the horror mixed with fantasy thrill animation movie was one of the finest entertainment to watch with friends and family. Coraline was a movie that was indeed unique in every aspect and until this day, people are talking about it.
Behind the voice, we had Teri Hatcher, Keith David, Dawn French, Ian McShane, John Hodgman, Robert Bailey Jr., Dakota Fanning, and Jennifer Saunders.
For many, it’s a cult classic, and it’s pretty normal for cult films to undergo a wait time. However, we are hearing a little bit of spice and hope that a sequel is around the corner. Don’t you want to know what we know and if a sequel is actually confirmed?
Coraline 2 – What Do We Know?
Coraline 2 officially has not been spoken about, really. There is not a lot that has been going on about a new film. However, from the below tweet from Neil, can we infer that there might be 1% chances in the future?
Coraline comes from Coraline, a novel from Neil Gaiman’s in 2002. Sadly, Neil never tried to create a follow-up to the movie. The 60-year old author shared his views through a tweet.
A fan’s tweet back in March 2021 read, “please make Coraline 2… what you waiting for, come onnnnn.”
Neil’s response read, “I’m waiting for a Coraline story that’s as good as or better than Coraline. There’s no point in making something less than the first book or movie.”

What does that tell us? Umm, No. Nopety. Nada for Coraline 2 currently.
Coming from the creator itself, there’s barely a reason to articulate facts, am I right or am I right? I don’t think you will disagree.

How about a prequel?
Nope, not everybody want a sequel or a prequel. Why always want that ? Coraline is just great, on every aspects. The story don’t necessary need to be extended. I’d prefer a new IP with the same animations technics and some kind of strange atmosphere again
