Harry Styles just helped a fan with closure as he paused his Madison Square Garden concert to call his devastating fan’s ex-boyfriend. During his performance in New York City, a fan caught his attention with a handwritten sign which read: “Dear Harry Styles, my ex called after seven years – what do I do?”
A video was shared on YouTube by user Josilyn Ferreira and showed the Watermelon Sugar artist asking the fan, identified as Ingrid, on how long her relationship lasted. The incredible clip also shows Harry asking Ingrid about how long the couple dated. Ingrid responded that they went out for 18 months and his name was Josh. But Harry responded: “It’s always Josh, isn’t it? Can I call Josh?”
If you aren’t aware, Harry Styles, 28 is in the midst of a 15-date run at the iconic Midtown venue as part of his “Love on Tour”. The One Direction alum returned to the stage Monday night for only the third show of his sold-out residency, which runs through Sept. 21 and he’d be promoting his new album “Harry’s House”.
An Enlightening Call…
At this moment, the audience began cheering, screening and hooting as he responded to his fan. Harry, however, went on asking the fan about the reason for their breakup, but Ingrid only described it going down because of many reasons. Harry didn’t stop there, he asked for a quiet place in the venue for the call.
To Ingrid’s shock, Harry Styles called her ex-boyfriend and said: Is that Josh”, however, the call did not last much longer as the person on the other side hung up. Even though Harry did not call back, he did offer wise advice to his fan, stating:
“Ingrid, I wish you all the happiness. It’s not with Josh. There’s someone else. There’s someone else who’s going to treat you with respect. They’re going to love you for who you are. Josh?! It’s never Josh.”
Fans went bonkers after seeing Harry take an extra step to help his fan. They flooded social media with praises. One fan penned on Facebook: “You are brilliant, Harry baby”. A second then added: “Just when you think you couldn’t love him anymore”. A third fan wrote: “This is absolutely gold”.
After leaving One Direction, Harry Styles has chosen to tour as a rock artist with a backing band. Lead guitarist Mitch Rowland and his partner, drummer and vocalist Sarah Jones, have toured with Hary during Harry Styles: Live on Tour and Love on Tour.
Styles has been seen by critics to be an unusually energetic performer since at least 2015 and his stage presence has been likened to that of Freddie Mercury and Mick Jagger. As for his present tour, which runs through Sept 21, the showman travels next to Austin, Texas, Chicago and Los Angeles to promote his latest album “Harry’s House.”
