John Travolta and his late wife Kelly Preston’s love story explored
It was love at first sight for John Travolta and Kelly Preston! The two of them met each other for the first time at a screen test for their 1989 comedy, The Experts. At that time, Kelly was still married to actor Kevin Gage.
Travolta has often stated that it was love at first sight, however, when Andy Cohen questioned Kelly on Watch What Happens Live, she said, “Kinda.” She further added, “Well, I was not that happily married, let’s put it that way. I was really with the wrong person.”
The Experts co-stars walked down the aisle in the year 1991. The pair said their vows on September 5, 1991, at the Hotel de Crillon in Paris. At that point in time, Kelly was two months pregnant with the pair’s son Jett.
John and Kelly welcomed their first child together, son Jett in April 1992. While having a chat with People magazine, Travolta talked about his son Jett and said, “After he was born and cleaned up, I held him for hours while Kelly slept.”
Preston gave birth to her and John’s second baby, daughter Ella Bleu, in April 2000. Unfortunately, in January 2009, the pair lost their eldest child, son Jett. He passed away while he was on vacation with his family. He died at the age of 16.
The couple’s third child, son Benjamin joined them earthside in 2010. After the arrival of his son, John told People magazine, “He’s given the house a renewed spirit and purpose. It is a privilege to be the father.”
