Channing Tatum has returned as the world’s most famous stripper in Magic Mike’s Last Dance. The film serves as the conclusion of the comedy-drama trilogy after Magic Mike (2012) and Magic Mike XXL (2015).
Tatum has paired up with Salma Hayek for the film, and the two are setting the screens on fire with their chemistry and moves. Much like the previous films in the series, Magic Mike’s Last Dance also features a number of exotic locations, including some strip clubs. Read on to find out where the film was shot.
Magic Mike’s Last Dance Filming Locations
The filming for the project began in November 2021. Tatum had made the announcement himself at the time. “Well world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in,” he wrote on social media, posting a picture of the title page of the film’s screenplay.
Over the next few months, the production took place extensively in Miami and London. The filming was wrapped up by mid-2022. Now without much ado, let’s have a look at all the locations where the shooting of Magic Mike’s Last Dance took place:
Miami, Florida
As per the premise of the film, Mike had retired from stripping and settled in Miami, Florida, and started working as a bartender for a catering company. Hence, a number of prominent sequences for the film were taped in real locations in the coastal city, including the one where Mike meets Max (Hayek) for the first time.
Miami is known for its scenic beaches, which served as the perfect backdrop for the sizzling chemistry between the lead actors. It is the second most populous city in Florida and is a major hub for culture, arts, commerce, and tourism, which makes it the second-richest city in the US.
Previously, a number of hit films have been shot in the city, including 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Godfather Part II, Baywatch, Moonlight, Iron Man 3, Step Up Revolution, XXX: Return of Xander Cage, The Happening, Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation, Midnight Crossing, Last Plane Out, There’s Something About Mary, and Speed 2: Cruise Control.
London, England
Magic Mike’s Last Dance featured Mike and Max heading to London, where the latter hires the former to perform at a theater called The Rattigan. While the theater is fictional, its name is inspired by Terence Rattigan, a famous British playwright. The scenes set in the theater were shot in an auditorium in London.
A number of other locations around the city were also utilized for filming some key scenes. A scene involving Tatum and Hayek having a conversation was shot at The Fortnum’s Bar & Restaurant at The Courtyard, Royal Exchange. The production team was also seen recording some scenes outside Piccadilly Circus, a road junction in the City of Westminster.
London has served as a production location for several Hollywood films in the past, including The Batman, Inception, Fast & Furious 6, The Dark Knight, The Bourne Ultimatum, Alice in Wonderland, Captain America: The First Avenger, Skyfall, and the Harry Potter film series.
