The Harp started the premiere of ‘The Masked Singer’ season 8 with a soulful performance
For those of you who are unaware, let us tell you, the Harp was the first contestant to take over the stage at the premiere of The Masked Singer season 8. Before the performance of the Harp, the show dropped a couple of clues to tell the fans who might be under the mask.
Along with this, Harp also revealed a few more clues in her monologue. She said, “I can’t believe I’m here on premiere night. But I am telling you, life does have a funny way of putting you exactly where you need to be. When I was a teenager, I auditioned for the biggest show in the world. It was my dream, but I didn’t fit the mold and was turned down.”
Even though the Harp was devastated, she didn’t give up and kept working hard. Later on, she unveiled that her uniqueness got her a golden opportunity of a lifetime. She further added, “(I) became an idol for anyone who felt like an outsider. The ‘no’s’ in my life made me stronger, but I won’t be taking ‘no’ for an answer tonight.”
What were the clues dropped by The Harp?
When we talk about the visual clues that went on in the background during the monologue, there was a cast sheet that noted ‘Lead 1’ and the rest two leads were unlisted. A clue showed a man dressed up in a scarecrow outfit with a witch hat.
The man made quite an entrance as he got a bouquet of pink and red roses and he passed that to the Harp. The last clue was a pair of 3d glasses. Then, the Harp performed a beautiful rendition of Perfect by Pink. The judges were stunned by her performance.
Jenny McCarthy predicted it could be Jordin Sparks or Fantasia, meanwhile, Robin Thicke speculated that it could be Queen Latifah. Ken Jeong thought it could be Jennifer Hudson.
