The 32-year-old is the youngest of three brothers, he was raised in Guildford and he attended Godalming College. He started his film career in the world of entertainment as an extra in the first three installments of the Harry Potter film series.
Soon afterward, Ackerley took a break from films, and he returned and stepped into the field of production this time. He worked as a production runner for films such as Gambit (2012) and Rush (2013).
