Congratulations are in order for PewDiePie, as the YouTuber is going to be a father soon! The 33 year old content creator announced that he and his wife, Marzia Kjellberg, are expecting their first child together.
PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, revealed that the couple got to know about their pregnancy in November last year; however, they decided to keep the news a secret. Read on to know more about the happy news.
PewDiePie and Marzia Expecting First Child Together
The Swedish YouTuber announced the news to his 111 million subscribers with a special video on February 5. In the video titled We’re having a baby!, PewDiePie says, “I’ve been keeping a secret from you guys, and that is I’m going to be a dad.”
“We found out that Marzia is pregnant first in November, and I’m just so thankful everything’s been going well so far. Although Marzia has been dealing with sickness, she’s been taking it like an absolute champ.”
“So yeah, I’m going to be a dad. I’m so excited. It’s kinda strange to me, it’s entering new territory, but I feel really ready and so does Marzia. I have absolutely no doubt she will be an amazing mother. I know that whatever is ahead of us, together we can do it,” he added.
Fans Sent into a Frenzy
The video broke the internet as soon as it was posted as fans showered their love and sent wishes for the couple with their comments. The video has already gotten over 4 million views and more than a million likes.
“This makes me so incredibly happy! I’ve watched you since I was like twelve and now I’m 23 and going to college and you’ve always been a constant in my life. I know that sounds really weird but even though you don’t know me it feels like hearing a friend tell me they are going to have a kid,” wrote a fan.
Another commented, “Watched it four times now. I can’t stop crying. For the last 12 years so have been such a big part of my life, from watching you after school, to putting on a video after work to just wind down. I’m so happy for you and Marzia, you are going to be such a beautiful family.”
The Couple Tied the Knot in 2019
PewDiePie and Marzia started dating in 2011. The two first met when Marzia, who is a YouTuber herself, was introduced to PewDiePie’s channel by a friend. She then emailed him, telling him that she found his videos funny.
After being in a relationship for eight years, the couple tied the knot in August 2019 in a private ceremony. At the time PewDiePie announced the news on social media, writing, “We are married!!! I’m the happiest I can be :heart:️ I’m so lucky to share my life with this amazing woman.”
The YouTuber was the most subscribed content creator in the world till November 2022, when MrBeast took him over. He now stands second on the list and is overall the fourth most subscribed channel on YouTube.
