Legendary American actress and comedian, Betty White is looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday on 17th January 2022.
And, the former Golden Girl and national treasure is inviting her fans to join her birthday celebration on the big screen. Her fans can be a part of the celebration via a special movie event, “Betty White: 100 Years Young — A Birthday Celebration.”
White’s birthday celebration “100 Years Young” will be screened in 900 movie theatres on January 17, the day of her centenary. The film’s screening will start at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., local time. Fans can get their tickets via Fathom events. They are priced at $13.38.

The duration of the film is 1-hour and 40-minute. Joining White in the film include her friends Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin Manuel- Miranda, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli, James Corden, Wendy Malick, and Jennifer Love Hewitt who will be seen in cameos.

The film has been made by Steve Boettcher and Mike Trinklein and it will throw light on White’s day-to-day life, important moments of her career, iconic characters played by her, behind-the-scenes on sets, and more before taking viewers to White’s actual birthday party celebration.
This film will also be honoring Betty White’s role of being the first woman to produce a national sitcom as well as the first woman to be nominated for an Emmy award.

Betty White is an American actress and comedian who gained a huge recognition for her comedic work on several television sitcoms, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls being the most popular ones.
She has been in the entertainment industry for over nine decades now and is considered to be a pioneer of early television. She is known not just for her work in front of the camera but also for her contribution behind the camera.
White happens to be the first woman to produce a national TV show, Life with Elizabeth. As such, in 1955, she was named the honorary Mayor of Hollywood.
She received immense love and fame for portraying the characters of Sue Ann Nivens on the CBS sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Rose Nylund on the NBC sitcom The Golden Girls, Elka Ostrovsky on the TV Land sitcom Hot in Cleveland, among others.
Betty White’s Early life
Betty Marion White was born on 17th January 1922 to Christine Tess and Horace Logan White in Oak Park, Illinois. She did her schooling at Beverly Hills Unified School District in Beverly Hills and at Beverly Hills High School. She completed her graduation in the year 1939.
Initially, White aspired to make her career as a forest ranger however that did not work out for her. Then, she tried to get into writing. She wrote a graduation play and even portrayed the lead role in it at Horace Mann School which led her to realize her interest in acting. Thus, she decided to make acting her career.
Betty White’s Career
White made her debut in radio programming in 1930 when she was just eight. After several years, she worked as a radio personality as well in Los Angeles.
White who made her name in the television industry was also seen being a staple panelist of American game shows like Password, Match Game, Tattletales, To Tell the Truth, The Hollywood Squares, and The $25,000 Pyramid. White became popular as “the first lady of game shows”.
She also gained recognition for her performances in the American TV shows The Bold and the Beautiful, Boston Legal, The Carol Burnett Show, and Saturday Night Live.

Betty White’s Personal Life:
White’s first husband was Dick Barker, a United States Army Air Forces aircraft pilot. They ended their marriage in less than a year. Later in 1947, White tied the knot with Lane Allen, a Hollywood talent agent. However, this time again White’s marriage did not work and they both separated in 1949.
White then married Allen Ludden, a television host, and personality in the year 1963 after which she change her name to Betty White Ludden. In 1981, Ludden died of stomach cancer.
Although White had no children from Ludden, she became a step-Mom to three of his kids from his first marriage. (Margaret McGloin Ludden was Allen Ludden’s first wife who died in 1961).
Since then, White has remained single.

In the year 1983, she happened to be the first woman to bag the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host for the American game show Just Men!.
Betty White’s television career spans over a mind-boggling period of nine decades. She has also been the recipient of a Guinness World Record in 2018 for her long career in the television industry.
