Early Life
Lauren Wendy Sánchez was born in the year 1969 in Albuquerque, New Mexico in a Mexican-American family. At a very young age, she developed an interest in the aviation sector. Her father worked as a flight instructor which ignited the spark in her for the aviation industry.
Post completion of high school, Sanchez went for higher studies at ‘El Camino College’ in California. She used to contribute to the college newspaper as a writer. She then pursued her graduation in communications from ‘The University of Southern California’ in Los Angeles.
Personal Life
Sánchez was in a relationship with former NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez. She shares a son Nikko with Gonzalez who was born in 2001.
Sanchez married Patrick Whitesell in the year 2005. Patrick is an American businessman and executive chairman of an Endeavor talent agency. Sanchez has two children with Patrick, Evan born in the year 2006, and Ella born in the year 2008. She filed for divorce with Patrick in 2019.
Speaking about being dyslexic she said, “I’m dyslexic and I literally had to put myself in a room and just cram to figure it out. They call them learning differences now, which is really sweet, but growing up I just thought I was stupid. My co-anchors knew I was dyslexic but not many more [did]. I felt like I had to hide it because it just wasn’t something that people talked about.”
