Is The Post Office Open on Christmas Eve?
Yes. The Post Office in the United States will remain open on Christmas Eve which is on Saturday, December 24, 2022. The local U.S.P.S. offices or branches will be operational during regular or custom hours before the grand celebrations begin.
If you have an important mail to post or any other Post Office related task due, make sure you get it done before the doors are closed on Christmas Eve. Else, you’ll have to postpone the work for a couple of days.
What are the Post Office Working Hours on Christmas Eve?

Additionally, the mail will be picked up earlier than usual from the Blue Collection Boxes. You need to drop off your mail before noon even if the final collection time posted on the box is later. In case you miss it, you’ll have to visit the local Post Office for later pickups.
On Christmas Day, the U.S.P.S. will not be delivering mail, and the deliveries as well as pickups will be halted for the holiday. Christmas is one of the very few holidays throughout the year when the U.S.P.S. is completely closed.
Is the Post Office Open on Monday, December 26, 2022?
Since Christmas is on Sunday this year, the Post Offices will observe the national Christmas holiday on Monday, December 26, 2022. Hence, you won’t be able to visit the local post office branch the day after Christmas (Boxing Day) as it will be closed.
Not only this but the U.S.P.S. will also not deliver mail or pick up mail from the boxes on Monday. The regular schedule will resume on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. However, a similar instance will take place on New Year’s Eve as it’s also on Sunday this time.
