BTS which is also known as the Bangtan Boys is one of the most popular South Korean bands. The band which was formed back in 2010, today holds a huge global fandom known by the name – BTS army. The band made its debut in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. Since then it has received huge success and love from its fans not just from South Korea but all across the world.
The meaning of the group name BTS in Korean expression is Bangtan Sonyeondan whose literal meaning is “Bulletproof Boy Scouts”. However, in July 2017, as part of the band’s new brand identity, it was announced by BTS that the name would also stand for “Beyond The Scene”.
BTS is formed with its seven members – Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM (Rap Monster), Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
However, not everyone knows that the band members actually have two different names – one being their stage name with which they are known to the world while the other is their traditional South Korean name.

BTS is composed of seven members, all boys. Out of the seven band members, three are rappers while the other four are vocalists.
When it comes to actual names, that is legal names, it could be a bit confusing to remember them as they are a bit different in South Korea where a person’s family name is written first and then would follow the person’s given name.
This is quite different from those in the United States as there, a person’s given name would be listed first followed by the family name.
Also, another interesting thing about Korean family names is that they usually have only one syllable with the middle name missing.

However, on November 2017, he had changed his name to RM and explained in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, that his name actually brought the meaning of “Real Me”. Please update this.
