Selena Gomez appeared on the popular American news show, “Good Morning, America” along with her mother Mandy Teefy and Daniella Pierson who spoke about Wondermind and how they have perceived a dream to normalize talking about mental health and to reach each and every person possible who feels anxious, sad, depressed or just not well mentally.
In an interview with Juju Chang, the three founding members of the Wondermind platform discussed and shared their journeys battling and surviving mental illness.
The trio talked about the platform and what it provides to the people.
Daniella Pierson, Co-found of Wondermind shared that the platform is just not just limited to the people who are diagnosed with certain mental illnesses.
The platform is a free space for anyone who is feeling anxious, sad, scared or helpless. Wondermind is not a labeled or restricted place.
She also mentioned and highlighted that Wondermind is not a replacement for a therapist.

She shared how liberating the whole diagnosis phase was for her and how it helped her build a relationship with herself which she describes as the best one yet.
Teefy, the mother of Selena also opened up about her struggles with mental health.
She told that she was diagnosed with Bipolar when she was in her 20s but later learned that she was misdiagnosed and was suffering from a condition called attention deficit hyperactive disorder.

—Selena Gomez is introducing a new platform, Wondermind to raise awareness around the stigma of mental health
That we are trained, and in return train others, “there is” a stigma to mental health issues is true.
That we seem unaware that we are involved in training it into others is also true.
We, in raising awareness about ‘the stigma’ of mental health, detract from raising the awareness of those trained in using it.
