Many thought 2023 was the most significant year in the history of video gaming. With titles like Diablo IV, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Alan Wake 2 released, it’s no wonder players had a fantastic year. However, 2024 is shaping up to be similarly spectacular.
Most Anticipated Game Released in 2024
While casino players want to play Keno right now, and mobile gamers unlock Genshin Impact skins, video gamers are already looking toward the horizon of new releases. Many excellent titles will become available this year, such as:
- The Wolf Among Us 2
- Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
- Persona 3 Reload
However, there are four video games players worldwide are waiting in anticipation to start playing.
Star Wars Outlaws
Fans of action-adventure games will love the new “Star Wars: Outlaws” game. This title is the Star Wars series’ first open-world game. It plays off between The Empire Strikes Back and the Return of the Jedi. The protagonist is Kay Vess, and you join her as she explores nostalgic and new planets and cities.
As Kay Vess, players will journey to look for freedom as they dodge, outwit and fight the empire’s crime syndicates. Players will be accompanied by their companion, Nix, and can jump on their ship, The Trailblazer, to participate in epic dogfights.
Ubisoft hasn’t announced exactly when in 2024 they’ll release the game. Currently, speculation puts the release date late in the year, but Ubisoft confirmed the release date is still very general. It’ll release on PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X/S.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
One would think that Square Enix has enough Final Fantasy games, but they continue to surprise and impress with their new titles. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a new story that’s added to the remake project. Square Enix is creating three stand-alone titles that explore the original story as the remake project.
Cloud and his companions escaping Midgar is the start of the game. The game continues to follow their search for Sephiroth. Cloud’s party is made up of the familiar faces of Tifa, Barrett and Aerith. Players are excited to see what remains the same as the original and what possible changes they’ll find.
Currently, the release date for this game is February 29th on PlayStation 5. It’ll be exclusively available on PS5 until, at the very earliest, May 29th. Currently, there’s still uncertainty about whether the game will be released on Xbox.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was one of the most popular games upon its release, and players are excited for the long-awaited sequel. In the original, we saw Senua finally accept who she is.
Sneak peeks and trailers show that players can expect better combat now that Senua has worked through most of her inner turmoil. We can’t help but wonder if it means we’ll experience more fast-paced action-adventure combat than in the original.
This game will be released on May 21st and will launch on multiple platforms. While you’ll see it coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox Cloud and PC, it won’t be on PlayStation.
Avowed
RPG fans will have a blast with the latest Obsidian Entertainment title, Avowed. It preserves Obsidian’s iconic RPG systems. Players will enjoy fantasy combat and several large zones they can openly explore.
This sprawling fantasy world is called the Living Lands, and players act as envoys of Aedyr. The storyline has you investigating rumours about a spreading plague. While there’s no specific release date, it’ll likely be sometime in the fall of 2024 on Xbox X/S and PC.

Video gaming became a culture that spread worldwide. Many excellent games were released in 2024, with some already available, like Palworld. However, we’re still waiting in anticipation for the release of these four titles.
