The all-new PS5 offers a controller known as Dual Sense. On the other hand, the PS4 offered a controller known as Dual Shock 4. It was the fourth generation controller.
Now, the Dual shock series has come to an end. The DualSense has many of the features that the DualShock 4 does not offer. Surprisingly, the PS4 does not support DualSense. You can’t use a PS5 controller on a PS4. Sony wants you to buy another Dual Shock 4 controller to play even if you have a dual sense controller lying at your home. The incompatibility may be explained by another factor.
For example, since the PS3 is compatible with a variety of Bluetooth controllers, the DualSense works well with that system. On the other hand, the PS4 and DualShock only recognized particular controllers, the PS4 cannot identify the PS5’s DualSense, which is why it is not compatible. The Dualsense feature is exclusive to the PS5, albeit it may be used with a PC through Bluetooth and a Nintendo Switch adaptor. But, you can still use it using an app called Remote Play. Here’s how you can do that.
Only Method – Using Remote Play
When connected to a PS4, a DualSense controller charges normally, but the system does not recognize it. This has been tested by many individuals. You can’t even use the PS on a DualSense when it’s tethered to a PS4, and you can’t link it to the console over Bluetooth either.
Using Remote Play is the only method that will allow you to play it. Let’s see how you can do it.
- Download the PS4 Remote Play on your PC or laptop.
- Connect your PS4 console using the PS Remote Play software by following the on-screen instructions on your PC.
- Connect your PS5 controller to your PC through a USB cord and link to the PS Remote Play software.
- Now, the Remote play App is running in the background you could use the PS5 controller, which is connected to your PC, to control your PS4.
However, PS4 games will not be able to use adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, or the built-in microphone array. Since PS4 games aren’t designed to take advantage of DualSense, you’re better off using a standard DualShock 4 controller.
