Cult of the Lamb is an upcoming action-adventure simulation featuring roguelike and fighting elements developed by Massive Monster and published by Devolver Digital. Massive Monster became popular after the success of Adventure Pals (2018) and Never Give Up (2019).

Cult of the Lamb has the release date set for Thursday, August 11, 2022, as confirmed via the latest trailer unveiled last month.
The indie game was originally announced last year in August and we received the first brief look at its gameplay during the Devolver Digital Summer Showcase in June this year.

Is Cult of the Lamb available for pre-orders?
Cult of the Lamb is available for pre-order on Steam right now. There is also a playable demo available. However, neither the developer nor the publisher has unveiled any pre-order bonuses for the game yet.
The UK retailer CD Keys is also selling Cult of the Lamb for a flat 5% off at £18.49. It’ll be available to order in other stores as well very soon.
Cult of the Lamb Trailers
Cult of the Lamb has a number of trailers showcasing glimpses of the gameplay and what to expect from it. The first trailer was launched in August 2021 which revealed the game and displayed cool cinematics along with the gameplay. You can watch it below:
It starts with a protagonist, which is obviously a lamb, being beheaded by an unknown organization. A God then seemingly revives him and gives him the power to kill them. Meanwhile, the lamb is also able to free a bunch of other animals who join the cult.
There are some more scenes in the clip which reveal the growing cult, combat, resource gathering, base building, and other elements of the game.

Cult of the Lambs Gameplay and Story
Cult of the Lamb follows the story of a lamb rescued by a mysterious figure (presumably God) from being sacrificed. You’ll be playing as the lamb being given supernatural abilities and asked to start and grow your cult.
Your goal is to start your cult from scratch, explore new locations and get hordes of followers who will gladly chant “gospel.” The main gameplay features include building your flock, spreading your words to attract more people, and destroying the non-believers.
You have to gather and harvest materials to build new structures and furnishings that you can use during rituals and ceremonies while paying gratitude to the Gods and proclaiming your gospel with influencing words to instill faith.
You also have to eliminate the ones who deny or reject your word by fighting waves of enemies while exploring the stunning surroundings. By defeating rival cult leaders, you will acquire their power and increase your cult’s preeminence.
Another aspect of the game is to teach your followers the cult’s ways and embark on missions while unraveling the mysteries of the world. You have to become the most powerful and influential cult leader and purify the land from non-believers.
There is base building, collection, exploration, combat, action, adventure, and everything else that you’ll try to find in an intriguing game.
