How to Unlock the Mystery Gift Option in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?
The Mystery Gift option isn’t available in Pokemon Legends: Arceus as soon as you start your journey after choosing the starters. You’ll have to unlock it in a specific fashion. To get access to the Mystery Gifts function, complete Mission 5, which is a request from Mai, one of the wardens of the Diamond Clan.
Fortunately, it is one of the main missions and you can easily complete it within a very short span of time. During the mission, you’ll have to meet Mai, learn how the combat system works, and then the Mystery Gift function will unlock.
How to Redeem Mystery Gift Codes in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?
After unlocking the Mystery Gift feature, you can redeem the gift codes that GameFreak shares every now and then. The process is very simple. Follow these steps:
- Open the Satchel.
- Now scroll to the Communications Tab.
- Here, tap on the Mystery Gifts option.
- Now you will see three options- Get via Internet, Get with Code/Password, and Check Mystery Gifts.
- You can tap on any of the first two options depending upon the type of gift.
- The third one is to check the gifts that you have already redeemed.
In this way, you can redeem all the Mystery Gifts. If the gift has a code, you’ll have to enter it correctly to get your reward. However, if the gift is via Internet, just select the option, and you can select the gift directly from the menu.
Remember that redeeming Mystery Gifts requires a good Internet connection. Make sure you are online and your Switch has enough battery left. If your device turns off while redeeming the gift, you’ll lose it.

Get a Darkrai and Shaymin
If you have played Pokemon games previously on the same Nintendo Switch, you can get the legendary Pokemon Darkrai and Shaymin for free in Legends: Arceus. You will need the secret Requests from previous Pokemon games for these.
To get Darkrai and Shaymin, head over to Professor Laventon’s blackboard within the Galaxy Team HQ after completing the main storyline.
In order to get a Shaymin (Land Form), you must have saved data on the Switch for either Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield, and complete the secret Request, A Token of Gratitude.
In order to get a Darkrai, you must have saved data on the Switch for either Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Pokemon Shining Pearl, and complete the secret Request, The Darksome Night.
Other Bonus Items from the Saved Data
You can also get other bonus items and rewards if you have played Pokemon games previously and have the data saved on your Switch. You can claim the rewards by joining the Galaxy Expedition Team after about an hour of playing the game.
After that, go to the Clothier in Jubilife Village and speak to her. She’ll offer you the following items for free depending on the games you have played previously:
- Shaymin Kimono Set: You must have saved data on the Switch for either Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield.
- Modern Team Galactic Set: You must have saved data on the Switch for either Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Pokemon Shining Pearl.
