Nintendo is keeping the tradition of releasing special edition Switch along with the new flagship Nintendo games. The latest one is coming to celebrate the upcoming Pokemon mainline entry, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet as Nintendo announces a new orange and grape-themed Switch OLED.
Titled, “The Nintendo Switch- OLED Model: Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Edition, the special Switch OLED launches on November 4, 2022, and will cost $35.99. There’s a visually pleasing paint job featuring Scarlet and Violet’s new legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon.
The newly revealed Switch OLED is $10 bucks costlier than the regular stark white SWOLED. However, if you are an ardent Pokemon fan, it seems worth buying as the games are already looking impressive.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Gets a New Trailer Revealing Key Details
Alongside the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet-themed Switch OLED, Nintendo has also unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming games which revealed important storyline details, gameplay, and three new Pokemon. You can take a look at it here:
The latest trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gives us more info about what to expect from the games. We get the first look at the evil team of generation IX games, “Team Star.” They are a group of rebellious students that seem to live in their own autonomous zone.
We also get to see “Geeta,” the supposed Pokemon champion of the Paldea region in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. She is described as “the chairwoman of the Pokemon League which operates Paldea’s Pokemon Gyms.”
Additionally, we know that players take on the role of students enrolled in a Paldena school and they embark on a treasure hunt study project in the upcoming games. On their way, they’ll encounter competitors in Gyms and will be searching for a rare ingredient called “Herba Mystica.”
The new trailer also unveiled our partner in the quest, a fellow student named “Arven.”
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Trailer Shows Off Klawf, Armarouge, and Ceruledge
The new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer revealed three new Pokemon- Klawf, Armarouge, and Ceruledge joining the already stunning roster of the Paldea region.
Klawf is described as a crab-Pokemon with powerful claws. We finally have a real competitor to Gen 1’s Krabby and Kingler. The other two Pokemon are exclusively available in individual games.
Armarouge is available to encounter only in Pokemon Scarlet while players can find Ceruledge in Pokemon Violet. Their appearances seem to resemble the “Past & Future” theme of the games and the legendaries, Koraidon and Miraidon.
Previously, Nintendo also unveiled Cyclizar, a Dragon-type rideable
Pokemon that seems to be a mid-stage between the two legendaries, and Grafaiai, a Toxic-type artsy monkey.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will have a new feature called “Let’s Go!”
The upcoming Pokemon games will have a new gameplay feature named “Let’s Go!” which wasn’t highlighted in the trailer. However, Nintendo explained how will it work in the following press release.
With the “Let’s Go!” feature, trainers can send out the Pokemon roaming with them in the field in the direction they indicate, and it will then roam the wilds, pick up items independently, and have Auto Battles with nearby Pokemon.
This new feature will likely be amazing for grinding levels. However, it’ll be a nightmare for shiny hunters.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will launch on November 18, 2022, on the Nintendo Switch.
