The Callisto Protocol is an upcoming horror-survival game by Krafton set 300 years after the events of PUBG (Player Unknown’s Battleground). The latest trailer has unveiled the release date, gameplay, story, and other information about The Callisto Protocol.
The previous footage of the game was revealed at Sony’s PlayStation State of Play 2022 event, and it left everyone insanely scared. The brutality of the game seemed pretty intense as fans were left wanting more of the upcoming title.
The Callisto Protocol Release Date & Platforms
During The Game Awards 2020, The Callisto Protocol was unveiled as an upcoming horror-survival game being developed by Striking Distance Studios and published by Krafton. The most interesting aspect of the game is that it’s set in the PUBG Universe.
The latest trailer for The Callisto Protocol has confirmed its release date and what platforms it’ll be available on. The Callisto Protocol will launch on Friday, December 2, 2022, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Microsoft Windows PC.
The game will not be coming on last-gen consoles including PS4 and Xbox One, and won’t be coming to Nintendo Switch or Google Stadia either.
The Callisto Protocol New Trailer Gives a Glimpse of the Black Iron Prison
The latest “The Callisto Protocol” trailer titled “The Truth of Black Iron” was published on Saturday, October 1, 2022. It features Japanese-American actress Karen Fukuhara as Dani Nakamura. You can take a look at the trailer here:
The clip shows protagonist Jacob Lee exploring the Black Iron Prison on Jupiter’s moon, Calisto. He meets disgusting creatures crawling in the place, and they can evolve ad mutate as their limbs are cut off.
Dani, one of the key characters in the game, is seen with Jacob as they make their way through the bizarre space with high security. She is seen exclaiming to Jacob that they must find out a way out of the prison toward the end of the trailer.
They are seen on a mission to find out the truth about the prison about what happened to all the prisoners and why no one is unfurling the mystery.
The Callisto Protocol Gameplay: What is it like?
The Callisto Protocol is described as a third-person survival horror game set on Callisto, one of Jupiter’s moons. It challenges the players to escape the maximum-security Black Iron Prison which is currently haunted by strange creatures and no one knows why.
The upcoming game by Krafton is going to ix horror, action, mystery-thriller, and immersive storytelling. It’s aspiring to be one of the most horrifying games ever built. There will be plenty of conspiracies, mysteries, and scary creatures ready to bring your eyeballs out.

What’s the Story of The Callisto Protocol?
The Callisto Protocol’s story is set in the year 2320, which is 300 years after the event of Player Unknown’s Battleground (Krafton’s most popular creation known as PUBG). The story features Jacob Lee as the protagonist who is on a mission to survive.
Lee will be exploring the Black Iron Prison on Callisto, one of Jupiter’s moons, where he’ll encounter strange creatures while trying to uncover the mysteries of the moon. Dani is another key character who’ll accompany Lee on his journey.
