Bam Margera has gotten himself inked on the face. The professional skateboarder and stunt performer got a tattoo of his son Phoenix’s name in Arabic over his right eyebrow. Margera already has a number of tattoos on his body.
The 43 year old, who shot to fame with his stint on MTV’s Jackass, is currently separated from his son as his wife, Nikki Boyd, filed for divorce from him last month and asked for full custody of Phoenix.
Bam Margera Gets Son’s Name Tattooed on Face
The tattoo artist who did the job, Gray Wake, has revealed that Bam visited the Tribal Roots Tattoo Studio in Escondido, California, with a friend last week. He said that he recognized the television personality from Jackass but was not informed of his visit beforehand.
Bam then told him to write his 5 year old son’s name, Phoenix, over his right eyebrow in Arabic. The skateboarder reportedly had the design on his phone, and Gray Wake inked the script on his face.
He then got another tattoo on his hand. Bam then showed off his new tattoo with a selfie on Instagram. “I miss Phoenix the wolf so much I had to get his name tattooed on my f— face to remind Nikki she is breaking my heart by not letting me see him,” he wrote in the caption.
Bam Margera’s Wife Filed for Divorce in February
Nicole Boyd, 39, filed for divorce from Bam Margera in February this year, citing irreconcilable differences. She asked for both legal and physical custody of Phoenix but said that she would allow Bam to meet his son under supervision as long as he covers the expenses and the visitation happens in LA County.
Boyd also asked for spousal support. In the court documents, she claimed that her husband had a non-sober visit to their son. Bam got married to Nicole in 2013 after a year of dating. They welcomed Phoenix in 2017 and separated in September 2021.
Earlier this month, Bam was arrested on the charges of domestic violence after a woman, who claimed to be his wife, alleged that he kicked her. The former reality star was booked into the Vista Detention Facility in San Diego County and was released after posting $50,000 bail. The woman is said to be his current girlfriend.
The Skateboarder has had a Long Struggle with Substance Abuse
Bam Margera has constantly battled with substance abuse in the last few years. Addiction is said to be one of the main reasons behind his troubled marriage. In 2017, Nicole filed for full custody of their son. However, she did not file for divorce at the time.
In 2018, Margera was arrested for driving under the influence in California and was sent to rehab. Since then, he has visited treatment facilities a number of times. Recently, his friend and former co-star Steve-O stated that he feared Bam would die of his addiction soon.
“I wish you could know how much I’ve hated feeling braced for news of your death, but you’re making it clear that I have no other choice. You’re dying, brother, and it sucks that I can’t do anything to save you,” he wrote on social media after witnessing Bam staying up ‘all night getting loaded.’
