How To Share Real-Time Location On Snapchat?
To share your current location with another user, you must first add them as a friend on the app. A pop-up box will appear for first-time users, reminding them that live location sharing is just for close relatives and friends.
This appears to alleviate any potential privacy concerns that may arise as a result of the new functionality.
1. Go to the profile of your friend.
2. Find the option to Share My Live Location by scrolling down. A pop-up will appear on Snapchat informing you of the new feature.
3. After that, Tap Sounds Good.
4. Choose the time period for which you want to share your location (from 15 minutes to 8 hours).
4. You’ll get a confirmation of ‘Allow All The Time’ which means that it will let Snapchat update your location in the background while you’re sharing live location.
And for that, it will give you the option to go to your settings where you may choose whether to ‘Allow It All The Time’ or ‘Allow It Only While Using The App.’
4. Finally, your Bitmoji will have a Live icon, which will not be visible to others on the app.
The Temporary Live Location Option On Snapchat
The Temporary Live Location option, on the other hand, does not allow you to share your location with many people. The new function is claimed to be an expansion of Snapchat’s existing Snap Map feature.
While Snap Map only refreshes location information when the app is active, the new function keeps your location visible for the time period you specify.
Regular Location Sharing Vs Real-Time Location Sharing
Regular Location Sharing differs from Real-Time Location Sharing. Because Real-Time location sharing is only available for a limited amount of time.
While, on the other hand, the Snap Map function, which debuted in 2017, claims 250 million monthly users who share their positions with others by regular location sharing.
But that tool only updates a location when the user has the app open.
Users may share their real-time positions with a friend for 15 minutes, one hour, or up to eight hours with the function, which is comparable to Apple’s Find My app.
