The Spotify Pie Chart is the latest feature for the online music streaming portal users that is going viral recently. This feature, created by a third-party company, analyzes your listening habits and presents the results in the form of a pie chart.
Find out what it is and how to create and see your own Spotify Genre Pie Chart to have a detailed look at your taste in music. There’s no specific user for that though, but you can simply use it to let others know what sort of music you regularly listen to on Spotify.
If you remember Spotify’s annual “Wrapped” feature or the “YouTube Recap,” you will find this feature very similar to them.
What is the Spotify Pie Chart?
Spotify Pie Chart is a new online tool created by Darren Huang, a University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) student, that lets users get insights about their music consumption in the form of a pie chart.
This tool analyzes your Spotify data, processes your listening habits, and then creates a pie chart based on it featuring different colors representing different genres. There’s also a legend just below the pie chart that explains which color indicates which genre.

It doesn’t only categorizes your listening habits into broad categories like rock and metal, but there are detailed genres such as album-rock, post-grunge, K-pop, indie rock, and others that exactly reveal the type of songs you frequently play on Spotify.

This tool is like Spotify’s end-of-the-year “Wrapped” feature that offers a brief look at the artists and music you’ve listened to throughout the year. However, the Spotify Pie Chart explains the genres, and you can create a chart every month, unlike Wrapped.
How to Create and See Your Spotify Pie Chart?
The Spotify Pie Chart isn’t a built-in feature on the popular music streaming and podcast platform. It’s an external tool that you can access from its official website on a PC or mobile. You’ll require an active Spotify account to use it though.
Once you’re ready, launch a browser, and head over to this website. You’ll notice that the website is asking you to “Bake Your Monthly Genre Pie.”
Now, you have to enter your Spotify login information, and then you’ll see an agreement page that requests permission to analyze your Spotify data. When you click on “Agree,” the tool will create your Spotify Pie Chart.
You will then see your own Pie Chart explaining which genres you listen to on Spotify and below it will be an explanation for colors representing different genres. Underneath that, you’ll see a list of artists you listen to the most, and the font of the name gets smaller from top to bottom.

Is This Pie Chart Available for Apple Music or Other Services?
No, this Pie Chart is currently only available for Spotify. It isn’t available for Apple Music users, Amazon Music users, YouTube Music users, or any other service users yet. You can only use this online tool with a Spotify account and know about your listening habits.
I’m so mad that I can’t do that pie chart music thing because I have Apple Music not Spotify

I thought the only time of year I felt left out for having Apple Music was Spotify Wrapped, what the hell is this pie chart business

We might see the same or similar tools for these services in the near future. Until then, only Spotify users have access to Darren Huang’s pie chart creation tool.
Spotify users are absolutely obsessing over it. Social media platforms are full of people discussing their musical pie charts. Have you tried it yet? Don’t hesitate to share the results in the comments section. We won’t judge you.
